Hi everyone,

I’m asking for help to save a very special cat named Moss.

Moss is believed to be a cat who was abandoned long ago and learned how to survive on the streets. For years, he quietly lived outdoors, relying on his instincts and the kindness of a few people who noticed him and made sure he had food, warmth, and a safe place to rest. Despite everything he’s endured, Moss is gentle, calm, and trusting.

No matter where he wandered, Moss always found his way back to my home — a place he clearly recognized as safe.

Over the weekend, Moss suddenly became very sick. He began vomiting, stopped eating, became weak and wobbly, and started hiding — all signs that something was seriously wrong. Without immediate medical intervention, he would not have survived. He was rushed to the emergency vet, where he is currently fighting for his life.

The veterinary team is running urgent tests to determine what’s wrong and to stabilize him. Emergency care is incredibly expensive, and as much as I wish we could manage this alone, we simply cannot.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Emergency exam and hospitalization

• Bloodwork and diagnostic testing

• IV fluids, medications, and supportive care

• Any additional treatment needed to give Moss the best possible chance

Moss was forced to live his entire life without the safety of a permanent home. Once he recovers, he will never know life on the streets again. Moss will be loved and will live out the rest of his long life as an indoor cat, with stability, comfort, and safety.

Moss may not have had an owner on paper, but he matters. He is a life that deserves compassion, comfort, and the chance to keep living.

We rescue the most needy cats and kittens from the outdoors or from owner surrender who otherwise would face things like death , severe illness, or an extreme difficult situation. We also believe strongly in and perform TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) for community cats in and around the Bronx to help manage the outdoor community cat population. We are a Zero Kill rescue, volunteer-based, 501(C)(3) non-profit, grassroots organization. When you donate or adopt a cat from us, it will help us rescue or TNR another cat waiting for help.
