Husband passed away, leaving wife and kids behind. My brother Gerardo A. Hernandez Bonifacio passed away on Thursday, July 10th at only 38 years old, leaving behind his wife Sandra Mejia de Hernandez  and their three children Emiliano 10, Geraldine 3, and Daniel a baby only 8 months old. He was the only one working making him the sole provider while she stayed home to care for the kids. It all happened suddenly when my brother Gerardo, his wife, and the children took a trip to El Salvador to visit family whom they have not seen in a long time. Gerardo started to feel weak and collapse, and started to have seizures, ambulance was called but unfortunately at the time of the incident there was a heavy storm due to El Salvador being in the middle of winter. Ambulance took almost one hour to arrive due to weather conditions, by the time my brother was already dead. Autopsy determine death was caused by a pulmonary embolism, In what seems like something that could have been prevented or something that you only wish was a bad dream. Gerardo was a loving husband, father, brother and son who always put his family first and never expected his life to come to a stop at such a young age. In this difficult time, we are asking for help to cover their living expenses while they grieve and find stability. Every donation, no matter what amount, will help them get through the next few months with some peace of mind. The money will help cover for rent, food, and baby needs while family finds a way to balance their new lifestyle without their loving husband and father. My brother was a sweet and polite man that always helped people whenever he could and was within his capabilities.
