Help Sabina’s family cover Cancer Treatment.

Hello, my name is Iryna, I have been living in the USA for ten years, but I am originally from Ukraine. This fundraiser has been established for my Ukrainian friends and their daughter, a wonderful three-year-old girl Sabina Lapshina with the terrible diagnosis - Neuroblastoma stage 4, a high-risk group. Neuroblastoma is a kind of cancer that usually occurs in children and infants. It is third-most-common cancer in children after leukemia and brain cancer. About one in every 7,000 children is affected at some time. About 90% of cases occur in children less than 5 years old, and it is rare in adults. This kind of cancer mostly affects the Autonomic nervous system. Cancer creates tumors, but the cells or pieces of the tumors do not fully finish growing. The cells become abnormal and continue growing and dividing, forming a tumor. A genetic mutation (a change in the neuroblast’s genes) causes the cells to grow and divide uncontrollably. Healthcare providers aren’t sure what causes the genetic mutation.

Sabina's mother Olga (https://facebook.com/olga.bondaevskaya) and I have been friends for many years despite the long-distance and I would like to help Sabina's family out as much as possible. Here is what Olga writes: “It is difficult to describe our condition, our pain, our fear, our confusion in the first days after receiving this terrible news. But we pulled ourselves together and began to process and analyze a lot of information communicate with parents who are now fighting cancer in Ukraine and other countries. We consulted with the best oncologists from different countries. It seems like we've called half the world in a week! As a result of the information received, we clearly understood that cancer is not a death sentence. We have a chance to cure our girl, Sabina.

In Ukraine, was no help. Medicine here does not specialize in the treatment of this type of cancer. It was decided to switch to use in one of the Israeli clinics "Ichilov". The treatment will be not quick, there are many questions ahead that have no answers yet. We have collected the necessary funds to start treatment in order to get Sabina to where she is to be saved as soon as possible! Unfortunately, the treatment needs to be continued, but there is no money for it! Preliminarily, the Ichilov clinic estimates the cost of treatment from 250,000 to 500,000 dollars. This is a huge amount. However, this is also a chance; a chance for our daughter to be healthy again, a chance for our daughter to live.
We paid the clinic's first bill of $50,000 on our own, but we need everyone's help to continue with the treatment. We ask our friends, relatives, acquaintances and just caring people to help us raise money for Sabina's treatment.”

Now Sabina is undergoing the third course of chemotherapy. She is in the hospital with her mother. Her Dad Konstantin (https://facebook.com/kostiantyn.lapshyn) and her two sisters stayed at home. Nobody knows when Sabina and her Mom will return home, but I am sure that Sabina will return healthy and live happily ever after.
