Help Robert Fight Head & Neck Cancer
My name is Carlie Rose and my Dad, Robert Nunn was diagnosed in February with Stage 3 head and neck cancer. He got surgery in April and he has been out of work since. He had 2 weeks of recovery/hospital time before starting 6 weeks of chemo and radiation treatments and the after effects have not let up. He is unable to eat or hold fluids down. He’s went from 300lbs to 185lbs as of today (since April). His short term disability was only for 3 months and 60% of his salary. Not enough for the Monday-Friday trips to Baylor, pay the bills, pay for medications, and provide for his family. He had to start back work the first week of August so he wouldn’t lose benefits, but he has been blacking out while driving, to sick to make it to work, or to sick to stay there, he’s extremely weak and stressed out. He is running out of savings and has no money left to pay bills, he has been trying to sell stuff around the house or pawn things. His job contacted him yesterday and told him if he cannot work 40 hours a week he will be terminated. He had to leave work today unable to quit vomiting or see any of his patients. My mom is about to take him to the hospital in Baylor now. They have used the last bit of money to fix up my sisters car and she got into a car accident Monday, which leaves my parents with one, unreliable vehicle left. My sister will need to be dropped off in Blooming Grove, youngest sister at Agape, and my Dad works in Athens. He would be worn out before he even got out of town. He is going to a check up with his surgeon on Thursday, August 12th and most likely he will be scheduled to place a feeding tube, because of his previous gastric bypass and lap-band surgery he will most likely need to be put under and it will be a more difficult healing process (more time off). Anything will help, we are grasping at thin air and praying God will provide and pull them through.
