Help RI Surf 07 Girls Return to DPL Nationals!

First and foremost - thank you to all that donated last year to help us get to DPL Nationals in Dallas. We fell a little short of our hopes at a National Title, but still finished 3rd in the US for the DPL.

Once again, this June, the Rhode Island Surf Elite Girls 2007 team is headed to Ohio for the DPL (Development Player League) National Championship in Cincinnati. This year, the girls have had tremendous success, despite a few setbacks and injuries. The girls earned their spot in Nationals by winning their conference and going undefeated. The girls finished the season 7-0-1 in the NorthEast scoring 23 goals and allowing only 3!!! Additionally the girls played some of the top teams in the Country at the Jefferson Cup Showcase in Virgina, Copa Surf Showcase in Massachuseets and the PDA College Showcase in New Jersey.

This is a special group and there is a genuine team chemistry and a family atmosphere around the girls. If they are going to Nationals in OH, they want to be able to do it as a whole group. Depending on how well they do, this trip can be anywhere from three to six nights. This format creates uncertainty for parents about how long they will need to be away from work and an added financial burden.

We have done several fundraisers in the past couple of years to help with travel to Nationals (Pizza night at Frank Pepes, Valentines Dinner, Team Gear), and we have constantly had people ask - "How can I just donate to help out". Hearing that repeatedly led us to create this GoFundMe page to help everyone on this team have the chance to compete at Nationals.

These girls have earned their opportunity to compete at a high level and they absolutely appreciate any and all donations to help them fulfill their goal - winning a National Championship.
