I am a close friend of Rebekah Malone. There are a few things I know about Rebekah, and one is that she really likes people. She also really likes dogs. Kind of an abnormal amount of both. If you even have a short interaction with her, you know her special way of she gives her full attention.
On a much more sad note, I recently found out that she has stage II invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). She will be undergoing a mastectomy with lymph node removal right before the new year. After surgery, her providers will determine whether radiation or chemotherapy will be needed.
Rebekah is a single mom to two young children, she works, and she volunteers. A major surgery like this brings real challenges: recovery time, reduced income, childcare needs, transportation to appointments, and medical costs that add up quickly. And with the timing falling right in the middle of the holidays, the strain is even heavier.
If you’re able, please consider contributing to help Rebekah and her family get through this period with a little more ease. Your support—of any size—will help lighten the practical burdens so she can focus on healing. We will share updates as her treatment progresses.
