Help raise money for Daniel's basketball chair!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Daniel Adebajo, I am 17 years old, raised in the UK and of Nigerian descent. I am looking to raise money towards buying a wheelchair that will help me chase my dreams of becoming a professional basketball player. I am very passionate about basketball, a sport I have watched and played for as long as I can remember. It is because of that passion that I choose to share my story with you all in the hope that you can support me on this journey.

I was born with a condition called Spina Bifida coupled with Scoliosis however I choose not to let it limit my dreams and instead have always tried to persevere in spite of my disability. It is with that same spirit that I am hoping for a positive result from this campaign.

I have been a part of the London Titans Wheelchair Basketball club for the last 6 years and have aspirations of one day being a part of the GB Paralympic team. Currently I have been using chairs that are loaned to me by the club or their former players- which has hindered my efforts in the game as these chairs are specifically made to fit the user (i.e. not me). Therefore, to improve my game and ultimately come close to reaching my goal, I will need to source a wheelchair which is specifically tailored to fit my height and width but also one that allows my legs to sit comfortably (as opposed to constantly coming out of the chair as much as they do now).

The cost of a new chair is around 3,500 GBP of which I currently can not afford on my own. I'm looking to source the funds for this chair through different initiatives such as a bake sale in my school and opening this gofund me page to name a few. I know that once I can get this chair, I will continue to strive to reach my goal without any limitations out of my control.

Aside from playing wheelchair basketball, I am an avid hip-hop music fan and budding historian. I create content related to the music industry (and specifically hip-hop) on my instagram page. There is a lot of synergy between basketball and hip-hop/music so I guess this is why they are easily my two favourite things in life.
