Help raise funds for George to go to the Jamboree

Hi there, firstly, thank you for visiting my go fund me page.

 

My name is George Tombs, and I have been lucky enough to be selected to attend the largest Scout Jamboree held in South Korea in 2023.

 

Being part of this event is a tremendous honour, and I'm very excited. I will be joining other scouts from the West Midlands (36 of us in total) to make up 1 of the units as part of the UK Contingent, and in turn, will join 40,000 from all over the world at this fantastic event.

 

Joining so many young people from all over the world will allow me to learn from them, and hopefully teach them about our culture.

 

This life-changing adventure will enable me to positively support others in the long term, within scouting and in my personal life, as I bring back and share what I learn.

 

Fundraising is a key part of the experience, and I now have the challenge of raising a large amount of money. I have set the target smaller for now!

 

I, along with my family, have already made a start on my fundraising efforts we have held craft stalls and sold bracelets and badges etc. 

 

I have completed my 'tri-sport-athon' on the 14th May (I played squash for 2 hours, walked 10k and then played tennis for 2hrs) and was shattered! THANK YOU everyone that sponsored me in doing this as I raised approx £500 which is amazing!

The next fundraising event is on the 23rd July. My grandparents have offered their garden to host a fun packed garden party! We have lots of games for people to play (approx 50p ago) plus a quiz, bingo, pop master, guess the antiques, cake sale, car boot stall, plus some live entertainment (me on the guitar with my dad) and drink!!
