Help Preserve Mississippi's Oldest Active Legion Post

Update July 2, 2024:

Last week one of our two Bingo boards shorted out. We are working on trying to fix the board but have been unsuccessful so far. A new board can cost thousands of dollars.

OUR STORY;

Allein Post #3 is the oldest, active America Legion Post in Mississippi, having been chartered on July 2, 1919.

Our Post is named after the Allein brothers, Henry and William: two brothers, from the same hometown, killed in World War I just days apart.

Our Post focuses on enhancing the well-being of America’s veterans and their families, Americanism, and children. We provide luncheons for the veterans in our community on military recognition days, participate in community activities, sponsor scholarships for teens to attend Boys and Girls State, sponsor scholarships for Constitutional Oratorical Competitions, and sponsor Vicksburg's first female BSA Troop.

We need the assistance of our community in order to keep our doors open. Our main source of revenue, bingo, was shut down for years due to COVID. We have reopened, but incurred some debt, and were unable to make much-needed repairs. Our facility is very old and in need of repairs.

We can use your help to save the oldest continually active Post in Mississippi. We are seeking your help raising the funds to perform the following much-needed repairs:

Preparing veteran meals in back of post 3.

Repair projects include:

⦁ Repainting the building, inside and out.

⦁ Replacing broken furniture and equipment.

⦁ Replacing the leaky roof.

⦁ Leveling and sealing the floors.

⦁ Repaving the parking lot.
