Help a Perry Hall Family Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire

Last night, tragedy struck our Perry Hall community. A heartbreaking fire destroyed the home of a beloved family who live on Dundawan Road, right at Glen Park. In a matter of moments, a place filled with memories, love, and comfort was reduced to ashes. The family lost everything — their clothes, belongings, cherished keepsakes, and the home they’ve lived in for years.

While material things can be replaced, we are incredibly grateful and relieved to share that all family members made it out safely and unharmed. At the time of the fire, the mother was working her second job, doing everything she could to support her family. Inside the home were her four children, their 85-year-old grandmother, and the family’s dog and cat — all of whom, thankfully, made it out safely.

The youngest child, just 12 years old, is a close friend of my daughter. They attended Gunpowder Elementary together and, even now that they attend different middle schools, have remained tight-knit — always finding time to play outside or enjoy swimming playdates at the Perry Hall Swim Club during the summer. This tragedy has shaken us deeply.

Now, this family faces unimaginable challenges. They’ve been displaced and are left without even the most basic necessities — no clothing, school supplies, beds, toiletries, or a stable place to call home.

We are asking our Perry Hall neighbors, friends, and anyone moved by this tragedy to please come together and help this family begin the long road to recovery. Every dollar raised will go directly to:

• $5,000 home owners insurance deductible.

• Clothing and personal essentials for all family members

• Food and meal support

• School supplies and basic needs for the children

• Ongoing rebuilding and recovery efforts in the weeks and months ahead
