If you haven't heard there has been a "minor" development in my health. 6 months to the night of my first admission, I was rushed to Falmouth Hospital with migraines, and vision loss. I was then immediately transferred by ambulance to MGH, where I was admitted and given emergency surgery that night to place two ED's in my skull.

Turns out, what we thought was going to work, did not. My catheter had ruptured within my skull, filling it with fluids and, well, you can see where this is going.

We were once again at square 1. But, not really. Luckily this time, we had a few tries under our belts so we knew what didn't work over what did, and we were just looking for 1 of 2 options. Our "option" became clear on Wednesday during clamp tests when I began "leaking" once again and had to be stitched up, bedside. We had to put back in both shunts.

Thursday we filled the tummy up, Friday scheduled surgery. All things considered, I was excited. 5 days is a pretty quick turn around! We didn't get started at the scheduled time, but once we got going, we were off! I was awake in 4 hours, and I couldn't BELIEVE how I felt! I felt good! Not Iike last time where I felt sluggish and weak and scared. I felt cured. I felt encouraged, I felt excited to LIVE.

What many of you don't know is how hard I have been working to physically regain my strength these last few weeks; I attribute this to my overall "good" feeling. Before my admission, I was walking about 2.5 miles a day, and lifting 3/4 days a week. If you had told me I would be doing that, a year ago, I would have laughed at you. Which is what leads me to what I am about to say; I have decided to create a work out/lifestyle program for those with disabilities, INCLUDING those with cancer. This is something I have had on my heart and have been working on since I went out on PFML 16 weeks ago. The week I was admitted was planned to fill with time, info and looking at ways to find the endeavor. I plan on recruiting nutritionists, healthcare providers and more. I plan on certifying myself in what I can. I plan to make it at an all inclusive community for EVERYONE.

Friends, this is what I would like to devote the rest of my life to. This is the space for me. I ask you to believe in me, and please reach out with anything you have to offer. I plan to spend the next few weeks building a business plan and pinpointing exact goals and objectives, sponsors.
This will obviously take a great amount of efforts, including financial goals at this time, I cannot fulfill all on my own. My car, being out of commission the last few months needs a lot of work-- something non-negotiable as I value my upcoming freedom more than ANYTHING. *IYKYK I also am needing to now take my last possible PFML weeks off from my job, meaning much lower paychecks than anticipated to pay these bills, much less money to spare to build something great.

My friends, you have helped me out before, and I ask you once more to help me out again. I am going to be updating my fundraising goal and ask you to help me BUILD something that wasn't there for me a year ago. A blueprint to navigating feeling GOOD with a disability or cancer. I'm asking you to help me build something to help us feel SEEN, and STRONG. There is no reason someone with cancer can't do HIIT workouts, lift weights, run-- we just need to be taught our limits, and how. We need to be encouraged, and if you had just given me a few videos, list of workouts or timetable of how much I should be walking each day, it would have been SO much easier.

I encourage you to please reach out to me with any questions, answers, anything you have to offer. PLEASE. The point is inclusive. For everyone. Nothing is too little. I thank you friends, BIG things are coming.

Oh! Also, my surgery was a HUGE success and I came home Sunday morning! Friday after surgery I went back to ICU, graduated quickly upstairs at midnight. I have never felt so good, so strong, so encouraged. This was nothing like 6 months ago. I felt ALIVE. Sunday he came at 6 am, gave me the okay, we packed up and went home! I am so happy to be here, and I'm doing amazing. I have never felt this good. We did it.
