Help Robert A.J. Gagnon Pay a CRAZY Water Bill!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rick D. Quinn, and Dr. Robert A.J. Gagnon is my former professor.

I'm asking you to help Rob with his CRAZY $8,000 water bill because:

(1) the municipal authority charges are unfair,

(2) Rob needs and deserves your help, and

(3) without help, Rob will be saddled with a bill he won't be able to pay.

Rob teaches at Houston Christian University and lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He drives from Houston to Pittsburgh and back every academic term (a 2-day car trip driving 10 hours per day without stops).

On August 21st, when he arrived at his Houston apartment to begin teaching for the Fall academic term, he noticed a leaky toilet valve (water going into the fill tank) and fixed it immediately.

The municipal water authority (City of Houston) sent him a bill for $8,210, claiming his toilet leaked 303,000 gallons (!!) from June 23 to August 21. When he is in the apartment (it's vacant in the summer), he uses about 1,000 gallons per month ($30/mo).

The city even read the water meter on July 5 and again on July 14, citing 59,000 gallons used since June 8th and another 49,000 gallons from July 5-14!

Despite nearly 72x higher monthly water use than usual (in Houston during the summer), the City of Houston did not call, email or text Rob to question this irregularity until mid-August (and the mail was held at the post office until Rob returned to Houston on August 21).

There are no water leaks in the apartment. Based on Rob's test, the toilet fills 2.5 gallons per minute. So, EVEN WORSE: the leaky toilet could only be responsible for about 236,000 gallons (from July 5 to August 21), but the City of Houston is making him accountable for 303,000 gallons of water!

Rob has appealed his water bill to the City of Houston (with the same tenacity, precision, and compelling arguments we've come to expect from him in his academic work).

The City of Houston denied his appeal to reduce or eliminate his water bill.

Professor Gagnon is relentlessly dedicated to faithfully teaching the Bible and has done so at a tremendous personal cost throughout his life.

I'm asking for less than the total bill because Rob has received a little help already.

Please help Rob pay this CRAZY water bill.
