# Help Our Family Recover After Devastating House Fire

On April 19th, what should have been a day of celebration for my mom’s birthday turned into one of the hardest days our family has ever faced. A fire severely damaged their home, forcing them to leave with little notice and turning their lives upside down.

Right now, they are moving five people and two dogs between Airbnbs and hotels while trying to find stable temporary housing during Furniture Market week, when lodging costs are especially high and availability is limited. They are expected to be displaced from their home for the next six to eight months as repairs are completed.

While insurance is helping in some areas, it does not cover everything. There are deductibles, temporary housing gaps, replacement costs, daily essentials, clothing, food, transportation to/from school, and many unexpected expenses that continue to add up.

We are asking for any support you can give to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping my family secure housing, replace necessities, and rebuild their lives.
