Hello everyone,
My name is Ruth, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. My sister and several of our close family members who live in St. Elizabeth, Black River, and Kingston, Jamaica, have been severely impacted by the recent hurricane that struck the island.
The storm caused widespread destruction — homes have been flooded, roofs torn away, and personal belongings destroyed. In some areas, families have been left without electricity, clean water, or basic necessities. My sister’s home suffered significant structural damage, and other relatives are now living in temporary conditions while they try to salvage what little remains.
We are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe, but the recovery journey will be long and difficult. That’s why I am setting up this GoFundMe — to help them rebuild their homes, replace essential items, and restore some sense of stability after losing so much.
Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
• Emergency repairs (roofing, walls, and water damage cleanup)
• Replacement of lost furniture, bedding, and clothing
• Food, clean water, and essential supplies
• Temporary accommodation for those displaced
Even a little means a lot right now. Every pound, dollar, or share of this page brings us one step closer to helping our family and neighbours recover from this disaster.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Please share this page with your friends and community — your support truly makes a difference.
With love and gratitude,
Ruth Quailey
