Help Support Our Dad’s Recovery from Oral Cancer
Hi everyone,
Earlier this summer, our Dad (Dan Whittaker) received a life-altering diagnosis: oral cancer. It was a devastating shock, filled with uncertainty and fear. But true to his nature, our Dad has faced this challenge with remarkable strength, courage, and grace.
He recently underwent an intense **eight-hour surgery** to remove the cancer, which involved the removal of oral tissue, part of his jawbone, and a portion of his tongue. His jaw was reconstructed using bone, muscle, and tissue from his fibula. Thanks to his meticulous preparation—mentally, physically, and nutritionally—he was ready for the fight. He researched every detail of the procedure and recovery, determined to give himself the best chance possible.
But no amount of preparation could shield him from the **financial burden** that comes with battling cancer. Like so many families, ours is now facing the harsh reality of medical costs that go far beyond what insurance covers.
Our Dad, who is also a **veteran** and a **volunteer big brother**, has always put others first—especially his children. He funded our college educations so we could start our adult lives without the weight of student debt. Now, he’s facing significant out-of-pocket expenses, including future dental implants and ongoing medical care.
We’re asking for your help—not just from friends and family, but from anyone moved by his story. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping our Dad heal without the added stress of financial strain.
Remaining **out-of-pocket** cancer and dental care **estimated over $10,000**.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. It means the world to us.
With love,
on behalf of Dan W.,
**Brad & Delaney**
