Our beloved Lisa Meyer has been hospitalized! 

As many of you know, Lisa has been out sick. Unfortunately, she was unable to fight the infection at home and has been hospitalized. It's estimated that she'll be in the hospital for up to a week. 

I don't have the space here to list all of the amazing things that Lisa Meyer does, not only for our practice, but also our patients and her fellow technicians. She, along with her bestie Keith, a fellow technician, provide numerous enrichment games for us at work to encourage play among us zoo animals. A favorite of mine, is the annual Halloween riddle scavenger hunt. Lisa bakes us goodies all the time and has come in on her days off to bring home cooked meals for our NWVS team that have to work holidays. She also spear-headed the initiative to spay/neuter the stray cats that call the blackberry bush behind our clinic their home. 

If I were asked to describe Lisa, I would say that she is clever, loyal, dedicated, smart, a lover of cats (bonus!), talented, funny, knowledgeable of all things obscure, creative, giving, patient and loving.

Lisa has done so much for our clinic to make it a better place that we all enjoy working. She works so hard to take great care of her husband that also has many ailments and is unable to work. I'm asking all of you, whether you know Lisa personally or not, to give what you can. Be it $5, $10, $15, or $100.  

Dedicating your life to being a veterinary technician is by no means a lucrative career. On top of not so great pay, our benefits are typically sub par. Lisa has already missed a week of work and will probably miss 1-2 more weeks. This can be devastating financially to a technician. Let's do what we can to soften this financial blow for her. 


I know of all people, Lisa Meyer would be forever grateful.
