I started NOVAREV because fashion can be more than just clothes. Fashion can be a movement.
After completing a year-long fashion program in Paris, I realized the traditional path of fashion school, internships, and chasing big brands didn’t align with my values. The industry’s elitism, exploitation, and focus on profit over principle felt disconnected from the kind of work I want to create.
NOVAREV is a “new revolution,” rooted in the original anti-establishment values of punk: rebellion, disruption, and refusing to play by outdated rules. Everything I create is upcycled from items I find at thrift stores or made using deadstock fabric left over from designers, factories, or mills that end up in a landfill.
I applied as an emerging designer to hiTechMODA, and I was selected! On September 14, I’ll debut NOVAREV’s first runway collection. To make it happen, I’m raising funds to cover the costs of creating a 12-piece collection, travel, and lodging in NYC. Every contribution, big or small, helps me take this next step.
Two days after the show in NYC, I’ll return to Paris and am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Politics and French at the University of London Institute in Paris. I will continue to build NOVAREV, taking what I learn about political ideology and activism to continue designing pieces that are meaningful, responsible, and sustainable.
