In the middle of the night, Nathan woke up to the smell of smoke. He quickly woke Rachael and the children, urging everyone to get out of the house. Within minutes, the entire home was engulfed in flames. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely except for Rachael, who had gone back inside to make sure the older boys were safe. She was badly burned by the flames and smoke, but she is stable and receiving care.

This tragedy has left my sister and her family with nothing. They have lost all of their belongings and personal possessions—clothes, shoes, toys, electronics, important documents—everything they had worked so hard for. Just four months ago, they moved to the USA, hoping to start over and build a new life. Now, they are facing the unimaginable challenge of rebuilding from scratch.

My sister and her family have been through so much over the last three years, and this setback is especially hard. We are grateful that they are safe and still with us, but they need help to get back on their feet.
