Help my Sister Angela James (Sissy)
Donation protected
Over the last three months my sister has been in and out of the hospital 7 times, also in ICU for 9 days back in June of this year. In her life she has had many hurdles to get over, it's been a rough road. She always jokes And says if it's a hard one to get, leave it to me, I'll get it!
She has been a diabetic since she was one year old, It has finally caught up with her in more ways then one.
Not only has diabetes caught up with her but a laundry list of other diseases and issues, Including just being diagnosed with Tracheobroncomalacia. This has been a tough one considering she had open heart surgery and a double bypass 10 years ago.
Tracheobroncomalacia affects her ability to breathe. It is a disease where you're Hard tissue in your bronchial tubes turn soft and collapses. This makes it very difficult for her to keep her oxygen levels stabilize when she sleeps or when she gets sick, also very difficult for normal everyday functions.
When we got her to the Emergency room her percentage to be able to breathe was about 20% of a normal person. She also had major inflammation and abnormal tissue in her Is Voicebox which at the time was diagnosed with throat Voicebox cancer. This was a very scary situation for the family and for Ang. Luckily the biopsy came back benign, but she still needs to go see an ear nose and throat doctor to get her throat opened up so she can swallow at drink and eat properly.
She has currently been in the hospital for over one month, unfortunately this has been a really hard one.
When she was in the hospital at the beginning being treated for the breathing, they were also taking care of a diabetic sore on her foot. Basically it was the secondary thing at the time, unfortunately for her It never healed , it ended up getting infected.
When she went in for surgery the 1st time they had to remove a joint and one of her toes. A week later that never healed and they had to go in for another surgery. At that time they cleaned it up removed a little bit more of the joint and moved her toes closer together so there was no longer a pocket. All we could do was pray that it healed. It seemed to be healing well and they sent us home.
A week later my mother and I were changing the gauze on her foot when we noticed the tissue looked dark and very red. Back to the hospital we went, Once again unfortunately for her she had an infection in all of her toes. So in she went for her 3rd surgery, Is this one being very life changing. She went in for a partial amputation of her foot.
She is currently laying in the hospital bed with a partially amputated foot. They are giving her 2 weeks to heal and all we can do once again is pray that her body heals the wound. Since she is a diabetic she has limited blood flow and all we can do is put this in God's hands.
She is by far the strongest woman I have ever met and has the kindest soul of any person I have ever come to know. She has a great support team but she could use a little help.
Being that she just moved to a new state she was currently off her insurance and she could use any help she can get. We are hoping to be able to get her a really good prosthetic foot so her life can be as normal as possible. It's going to be a long road to recovery and a tremendous amount of doctors visits and physical therapy, this will be pretty difficult with no insurance. We also need to get her all kinds of supplies to help her to make living her new life as comfortable as possible. My family and I will help as much as we can, anything you can do to help us we would greatly appreciate. Thank you for taking the time. GOD BLESS ❤
