Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

My name is Annitalia, and I’m reaching out today with a heartfelt request for help on behalf of my beloved grandmother. Over the past few years, my grandmother has slowly been losing her sight due to glaucoma, a condition that has made it increasingly difficult for her to experience the world in the way she once did. For someone who’s always been full of life, who cherishes her family and community, and who’s spent her life giving to others, this has been incredibly hard for her.

My grandmother is a true joy and brings light to everyone around her. She has a way of making every room brighter with her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. If you’ve ever had the privilege of meeting her personally, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Whether it’s her thoughtful advice, her generosity, or her love for the people she holds dear, she has touched so many lives. She’s always been the first to lend a helping hand and offer a comforting word, and her presence is a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to being the heart of our family, my grandmother has also faced incredible challenges with courage and strength. She bravely overcame breast cancer not once, but twice. Even through that fight, she never let it define who she is. Instead, she has remained a joyful and cheerful person, always grateful for the life she’s been given and determined to keep moving forward. Her resilience and positivity have been an inspiration to all of us. She sees every obstacle as an opportunity to grow, and she remains focused on the beauty of life and the people around her.

Sadly, her gradual loss of sight due to glaucoma has taken away some of that joy. The simple pleasure of seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren come together has become more difficult, and it breaks our hearts to know that she can no longer see the faces of those she loves most. While she’s always been an active part of our family gatherings, there’s a piece of her that’s missing, and we know it’s because of her vision loss.

Her biggest wish, her final wish, is to see again. To experience the joy of watching us all together, to witness the world around her with the eyes that once saw everything so clearly. We want to help her fulfill this wish, but we need your help.

My grandmother has been recommended for a corneal transplant surgery, which would restore her sight and give her the chance to experience the world again. The total cost of the surgery is $12,000, but we need to raise $3,500 to secure a spot for her in the upcoming year and because she has already has been qualified and cleared to to receive the procedure. This is the next step in giving her the opportunity to fulfill her dream of seeing once more, and we want to do everything in our power to make this happen for her.
