I am reaching out for help during one of the hardest times my family has faced. My husband has been unable to work for the past year due to serious health issues, and I am working part-time at McDonald's to keep us going. My son, who is just 16, has a heart condition that needs regular monitoring, but recently our insurance removed him without our knowledge, saying he qualified for Medicaid. Medicaid, however, says he doesn't qualify, and now he has no health insurance. A single visit to his cardiologist is very expensive, and he needs to see his specialist before our family doctor can prescribe the medication that could help him concentrate and improve his grades.

We are barely making ends meet. My son has had to get a job to help, and I recently faced a bank error that left our account deeply negative. On top of worrying about my son's health, I am also diabetic and need medication, and my husband is dealing with post-concussion syndrome, heart failure, and other health issues that require expensive prescriptions. Sometimes, we have to choose between buying food or getting our medications.

All my life, I have given to those in need without expecting anything in return, and I have raised my son to do the same. Even when we are struggling, I have taught him to help others in any way he can. Now, I am asking for help for my family.
