Help mother and daughter after cancer loss
Donativo protegido
So often the people who give the most are the people who ask for the least. My friend Cel Paquette is one of those people. She worked as a social worker for decades, changing the lives of people in need for the better. She has been a dutiful daughter, caring for her Mom until her death; now that her father is infirm, she is taking care of him, too.
It was a shock to Cel when her beloved husband of 16 years, Mike Paquette, was diagnosed with lymphoma. But the prognosis was good; chemotherapy was working, and all signs indicated that he was going to be fine.
But he wasn't.
Last Saturday night, Mike collapsed in the family home. Paramedics worked for over an hour to revive him, but to no avail. Tragically, shockingly, Mike was gone.
Cel is now the sole caregiver to her and Mike's teenaged child. She now has to navigate life without her husband, without his love and support, and without his income.
Cel is a giver. She would never ask for help, even during this hardest of times. So I am asking for her. Please help if you can. Donate in memory of Mike, who loved her so much, and who would never have wanted this for her. Donate for their daughter Olivia, a talented artist who has lost the guidance of her father's love. Most of all, donate for Cel, who is lost right now and needs all of us to see her home.
