Help Molly Breathe Easy: Raven's Plea

Donación protegida
**PLEASE SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR UPDATES**

Hi, I'm Raven Rockwell and I've started this fundraiser for our senior dog Molly. We woke up this morning, June 29th, to her being unable to breathe well and quickly got dressed and took her to the emergency vet. She had X-rays which determined that only one lung is functioning and the other is full of fluid. They are having to drain the one lung so she can breathe better, but will need to do an ultrasound Monday to rule out any other potential causes. It could be infection or possibly a tumor. As I'm typing this now, our bill is roughly up to $1,750 but they are talking about potentially hospitalizing her until Monday, when she can have her ultrasound. If that happens, that brings our total to around $4,000. This estimate, as of now, includes medications and the procedure to drain her lung.
We don't like to ask for help, and understand finances are tight for so many right now, but we love our little Molly and this is such a large, unexpected expense, so we would be grateful for any donations, or even if you could share this fundraiser with others.

For transparency: If we reach our goal, and somehow end up with funds leftover, we will be donating the remaining funds to our local SPCA in Stafford County.

Thank you for reading,
Raven

**UPDATE (06/29 at4:33 pm)**: Molly is coming home for the weekend before going back for her ultrasound on Monday. She had her procedure and the fluid has been drained, but she isn't out of the woods yet. She had pleural effusion which is fluid in the chest cavity, not IN the lung. Her heart also isn't contracting as well as the doctor would like, and they believe there is a mass putting pressure on it. The fluid extracted from her chest cavity will be sent off tomorrow, and hopefully we'll know if it's infection or not. I have left the goal the same, because I don't know what's next after her ultrasound and our bills are already almost half of that just from today. The ultrasound is another $600. I will continue to update the best I can as things happen, but finger's crossed there isn't any need to post more updates until her ultrasound on Monday. Thank you to everyone who has already donated. That means so much to us and we can't thank you enough!

**UPDATE (07/01)**: This is not the news I was hoping to share with everyone today. Stephen dropped Molly off at the clinic for her ultrasound this morning, and when he was almost home, the vet called and said that the lab results came back from the fluid they sent off to be tested and it was positive for cancer. It's either Mesothelioma or Carcinoma, but they couldn't say for sure. Either way, the ultrasound was canceled and she was sent home on hospice care with steroids to help with her inflammation. The vet couldn't tell us how long she has, but it isn't very long. She's not well at all, and there's been a drastic shift in her energy levels and overall demeanor, just since Friday. I am once again keeping the fundraiser amount the same as we prepare for end of life expenses for our sweet Molly, on top of the rest of the bills we've now accumulated. In the meantime, we may not update for a little while, as we will be trying to spend as much time as we can with her. But please keep sharing our fundraiser. It really means the world to us to have so many pitching in to help, and we can't thank y'all enough.
