Help Our Friend Mia Edwards (Sled Accident Victim)

Mia is a fascinating young local with her whole life ahead of her who, this past Sunday, suffered a major back injury sledding with family and friends. 

A multi-sport athlete training to be an

EMT, this fun-loving young lady aspired to, some day, become a police officer. I met her just briefly and for the first time at the city council meeting where the new regime was being sworn. Just five days later she was the recipient of the most serious injury of her life. 

While she is in incredible spirits, what she faces would overwhelm most. We’re talking about months of rehab and hard work—the inability to work (or even walk) plaguing her for at least the first leg of this long journey.
