Nearly a year ago, I had a total colectomy (my colon removed). I had been extremely sick for at least a year and a half prior. The colectomy has not achieved the results we were looking for; this is causing me to get an ileostomy pouch on April 24th. Due to soon missing nearly six weeks of work to not only heal physically but also mentally and emotionally, essentially learning to live a new life with a pouch attached to my body, I am asking for help. Help to pay bills, buy essentials, supplies that Medicaid doesn’t cover and possibly new clothes if what I currently own does not work well with an ostomy pouch.
