My name is Meaghan Heath. I am a local of Greenville SC. Born and raised. I’m a daughter, sister, dog mom, and friend. I was given single digit odds of living when diagnosed with autoimmune disease in 2021. I needed a new liver and was already at death’s door when diagnosed. I survived an organ transplant in 2021 and it took a few years….with great health care, a positive outlook, and staying tough, I thrived. Just a few days ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Invasive Lobular Carcinoma. (My mother died on September 1, 2024 of breast cancer. My last family photo is attached. My mom, dad, brother, and my dog “Mr. Beans” are pictured.). I am a 48 year old single woman. I spent all of my savings on surviving my first health diagnosis in 2021….now this. I am asking for help. ANY help. I can’t get treatment if I can’t pay for it. I have no financial help. Because my organ transplant was done at MUSC in Charleston SC, they are going to treat me for cancer also. MUSC offers no housing or assistance for out of area patients. I will need to pay for treatment, travel, housing, food, medicine, and co-pays/deductibles. Not only for cancer treatment but also continuing treatment for my transplant status (that never stops.). All while paying my own cost of living and small mortgage payments. I only own a small used car & a small home. If I lose my home…there is no where. I have fought too hard these last few years to give up now. My prognosis is good but only if I can pay for care. Please find it in your heart to help.
