So lets start from the beginning. Hi I'm MizzPeachy.
Last year my family got into a car accident. A very high/drunk man crashed into my family's car. There car was very small and the other party had a very big car. That day my mom suffered so much on her side. The seatbelt went under her ribs and shattered some parts. it also affected her neck and made it hard for her to move and breath well. So she was treated for a long while till she could get back on her feet. My dad had some shoulder/ arm problems that affected him. My sister didn't even have her seat belt but I was so thankful she wasn't hurt in the process of that.
I am so happy that they are alive and are healthy .That day was the most traumatic moment in my life. I though I almost lost them. Just no one wants to wait for your family to come back and hear them be in the hospital and you cant do anything.
The person who hit them was supposed to pay everything that happened. Our lawyers told them they would pay for the damage and assured us that.
The bill to the hospital was originally 13,186.50$ they payed only -$5,000 dollars so they are now telling us that we have to pay the remaining amount of 8,186.50$
we have tried contacting the layers for almost a month now and no one has tried to reach back to us. As well the hospital . At this point we think they are doing this on purpose. They tried many excuses already. It feels like defeat. The second bill is from a debt collector if this isn't payed my mom wont be able to get her papers. She is an immigrant and I want to help her get the things she needs. I wasn't expecting another bill so I was shocked to know this information. This bill will cost $9,455.00
I was okay with it being 8K as it seems a little bit more reasonable but this piled up and has gotten out of control. So I'm at my wits on what to do now. If you can share or spare just 1$ it would mean the world to me and my family.
UPDATE: Forgot to mention but we did get a call back today a few hours ago that they basically called us Liars and that we actually will have to pay cuz they quoted "mentioned it before to us and that they emailed my mom more info on it" I know this is a lot of money but we don't have insurance. If we can manage to get one of the important bills we can cover the other rest a bit more slower for us to get to it.
