Hi, my name is Isabella, my girlfriend and I are 19 years old who recently had to move out and live alone due to family reasons. We started working in DoorDash and everything was going great until about 2 months ago. Suddenly our car broke down at midnight and completely stopped working. We had no money to buy a new one so our only resort was to walk 1 hour home and sell our Nissan Sentra 2017 for $1500, we urgently needed a car to continue working so we ended up buying a car at a dealership. Not even 24 hours later the car completely broke down at 5am, the car was a Mazda 2009 as that was the only thing we could afford, we called the dealership and they told us that we had to wait for them to pick it up when they were available. They told us that the transmission stopped working and that they would give us a new car the next day. This went on for a week, days passed and they stopped answering. We stopped working and urgently needed to start working since rent was due in 3 days. We were finally able to get ahold of the dealership but they told us they no longer wanted to help us. They told us they would only return $811 out of the $1500 we payed. There was no way around this and we urgently needed to work. While they prolonged the return process we were running out of food. my aunt was able to give us some food but she has kids of her own and know it’s hard for her as well and don’t want to bother. Our rent was 2 months pass due so we were evicted. We really don’t know what to do. We had been walking to get to job interviews and luckily some metro drivers were very kind to offer us a free ride to where we were going. By luck I found a remote job and start October 6th and my gf is waiting on a job to go to orientation. But the problem is we don’t have any money to rent a room so that I can start working. The money we end up receiving is going towards that since it’s something we can’t wait on. Anything helps. We truly never imagined we would be going through this but know that sooner or later we’ll make it to the other side of the rainbow, anything anyone wants to help with is truly appreciated. A lot of people are saying it’s hard to believe we weren’t able to find a job sooner but when you’re on the other side you realize it’s things that happen that are out of your control, we had been going to so many job interviews, had applied everywhere but it’s a bit harder when you don’t have a car and no money to be able to move around. thank you to all those who have been very kind and supportive and have been willing to help, I am truly beyond grateful ❤️
