Just over a week ago I found a lump between Saffie's neck and right shoulder. I took her to the vet on Wednesday 30 April for fine needle biopsy samples and the results came back today. Sadly they were inconclusive as there were some cells that could prove malignancy but there were not enough to say 100% which means she'd need a more invasive biopsy or lump removal under sedation for further testing.

On Saturday 3 May I found another lump right across the middle of Saff's spine which was alarming because it wasn't there before otherwise I would have had that one tested too. The fact that this has grown so rapidly in such a short time and is right over her spine - and seemingly attached to her spine - is very concerning and this needs to be investigated too.

I spent £227 on the biopsy for the first lump and she will need further investigation for that then I'll need to pay at least the same amount again or simply opt for the more invasive biopsy under sedation, which I think is the better option to be honest, sedate her, get some decent sized samples taken from both lumps, send them off to the lab and find out what we're dealing with. Sedation and biopsies is going to be £3-500 on top of the £227 I've already paid plus any other treatment she may need if they turn out to be malignant or they need any other treatment to prevent growth and spread.

Saffie turns 10 in September this year, she's an old girl now but she's not decrepit yet, she's my baby, my first dog, and I am absolutely devastated, anxious, and worried out of my mind. I hate asking for money, I feel like such a failure but I really need help.

I've put an estimate of £1,500 but it could end up costing less or more than this and I am happy to refund anyone over the limit of what I need. I will provide invoices and receipts and progress updates for anyone who would like to see them.

I need to pay for a consultation to have this new tumour measured before the vet can send me an accurate quote on costs so I've had to make an estimate to get the ball rolling. I have £18 in my bank account for dog food, bread and milk, I don't even have the consult fee right now. I live on Pot Noodles and I'm struggling to pay the electric bill as it is and I'm doing absolutely everything I can to cobble cash together but it's hard.
