Hello everyone. My name is Francis Vasquez, and I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Today, I am appealing to the solidarity and kind hearts of this community to ask for urgent help for my cousin, Mauricio Perez, who lives in Venezuela.

On June 24th, his family's life changed in a matter of seconds. A devastating double earthquake struck the country, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Sadly, Mauricio's apartment—the home he worked so hard to build for his wife and his 20-year-old son—suffered severe structural damage and has been left completely uninhabitable.

Overnight, they were forced to pack their lives into boxes and leave the place that sheltered them. To make matters worse, this apartment wasn't just their home; it was also the space where Mauricio had his electronics workshop. The earthquake not only took their roof but also severely impacted their primary means of work and family livelihood.

Anyone who knows Mauricio knows that he is a hardworking man, a dedicated teacher, and an exceptional father who has always been willing to help others. Today, they are the ones who need us. Starting from scratch in the current conditions of Venezuela is a monumental challenge that they cannot face alone.

100% of the funds raised in this campaign will go towards helping them rebuild their home, securing a safe place to sleep without the fear of walls collapsing, and allowing them to regain their stability.

El 24 de junio, la vida de su familia cambió en cuestión de segundos. Un devastador doble terremoto sacudió el país, dejando a su paso una enorme destrucción. Lamentablemente, el apartamento de Mauricio —el hogar que con tanto esfuerzo construyó para su esposa y su hijo de 20 años— sufrió graves daños estructurales y quedó completamente inhabitable.

De la noche a la mañana, se vieron obligados a empacar toda su vida en cajas y abandonar el lugar que les brindó refugio durante tantos años. Para empeorar la situación, ese apartamento no era solo su hogar; también era el espacio donde Mauricio tenía su taller de reparación de equipos electrónicos. El terremoto no solo les arrebató el techo bajo el que vivían, sino que también afectó gravemente su principal fuente de trabajo y el sustento de su familia.

Quienes conocen a Mauricio saben que es un hombre trabajador, un profesor dedicado y un padre excepcional, siempre dispuesto a ayudar a los demás. Hoy, son ellos quienes necesitan de nosotros. Empezar de nuevo en las condiciones actuales de Venezuela representa un desafío enorme que no pueden enfrentar solos.

El 100 % de los fondos recaudados en esta campaña se destinará a ayudarles a reconstruir su hogar, asegurar un lugar seguro donde puedan dormir sin el temor de que las paredes se derrumben y permitirles recuperar la estabilidad para seguir adelante.
