Mason is a strong willed, fun loving, energetic 7 yr old boy. With an extreme curiosity to experience the world around him. When he was 5yr old he was diagnosed with Level 2 Autism, ADHD and Developmental Delay. In the summer of 2024 Mason was also diagnosed with epilepsy, after a brief hospital stay. With this diagnosis have come daily life struggles and safety concerns for Mason. He struggles with motor skills, communication, repetitive behaviors that include flapping hands, picking his lips, eloping), as well being a fall risk from his seizures. Mason becoming overwhelmed and unable to express his emotions increases the odds of him having aggressive outbursts. This is a life long situation for him that will continually come with obstacles/barriers. With his service dog it would be another tool to help him adapt and overcome those obstacles/barriers of living with Autism and Epilepsy. We are excited to announce Mason was approved through 4 Paws for ability for a service dog. We started by fundraising for our part of the service dog fund. I am happy to announce that with the tremendous outpouring of love and support from our community and friends for our boy. We were able to reach our goal for the dog portion in just 2 months. we have been placed in the Cotton Candy 2026 class to go to Ohio and receive his service dog.
In order for him to receive his service dog, we will be traveling to Ohio for 12 days in Fall 2026. We will spend these 12 days in class to be trained to be a handler as well as bond with his pup. We are now on the journey of raising funds for this 12-day trip to Ohio. We are reaching out to our community to help make this possible for our family as there will be some rather large expenses on this trip. We have been so blessed along this journey so far and we are so thankful for every one love and support. We have a Facebook page 4 paws for Mason for anyone who would like to follow along with us in this journey.
