Help Lil Get the Medical Care He Desperately Needs
Don protégé
This is Lily.
Lily is a gentle, tiny cat who was part of a small outdoor colony lovingly cared for by my sister’s neighbor, Lilian. For years, Lilian gave her time, heart, and resources to ensure that Lily and the rest of the colony were fed, sheltered, and safe.
But everything changed suddenly.
Lilian passed away from heart failure, and her home was put up for sale. The shelter she built for the cats in her backyard was torn down. The cats are now displaced, grieving, and confused. They’ve lost the only home they’ve ever known.
My sister, who lives across the street, has been doing all she can to care for them. She feeds them daily and is gently encouraging them to transition to her property, but it's not easy — these cats spent their lives in Lilian's yard, and that was their safe space.
Lily, especially, is in trouble.
She is very small and clearly malnourished. Despite being hungry, she struggles to eat. She drools constantly and appears to have serious dental issues — possibly stomatitis, an oral tumor, or other painful conditions that prevent her from opening her mouth or chewing properly. It is heartbreaking to watch her try so hard to eat, only to give up from pain.
We want to help Lily, but we are not financially able to cover the medical care she desperately needs.
So far, we’ve called every rescue and shelter we can find. Most are overwhelmed and can’t help. One of the colony cats has already been euthanized due to kidney failure, and we’re terrified of calling again only to hear the same fate for Lily.
We don’t want to give up on her. She deserves a chance.
We’re asking for help to cover Lily’s medical expenses — vet consultation, diagnostic tests, dental treatment or surgery, and any follow-up care. We don’t have an exact cost yet, but early estimates suggest that we’re looking at hundreds, possibly thousands, of dollars. Every dollar will go toward giving Lily a chance to live without pain.
If you can help in any way — by donating or sharing this story — we would be forever grateful. Lily still has so much life and love left to give. Please help us give her that chance.
With gratitude,
Gina Bianchini
