Hi everyone,
We wanted to share something close to our hearts and give you a chance to be part of a big dream in the making.
Our son, Liam Laughbaum, is 15 (turning 16 in March) and already working hard toward an extraordinary goal: to become a United States Air Force fighter pilot. He has set his sights on attending the U.S. Air Force Academy, and he's doing everything in his power to be an outstanding candidate.
Liam is currently a sophomore in high school AND college—maintaining a 4.0 GPA in his college courses. He's also proudly serving as First Sergeant in his Civil Air Patrol squadron, developing his leadership skills and discipline in preparation for military service.
One of the most important (and competitive) steps in his journey is earning his private pilot license. This not only strengthens his Academy application—it’s a powerful way to show the Air Force that he’s serious, prepared, and ready to serve at the highest level.
The cost of flight training can be steep—around $12,000—and while we’re not expecting to raise that full amount, we’re hoping to gather whatever support we can from family, friends, and those who believe in helping young people chase big goals rooted in service and purpose.
Liam isn’t afraid of hard work—he’s been running his own lawn-mowing business for the past four years, diligently saving his earnings to put toward this goal.
If you'd like to support Liam’s dream—whether by donating, sharing this with others, or just cheering him on—we’re deeply grateful. Every bit helps get him one step closer to the cockpit, and ultimately, to serving our country with honor.
Thank you so much for being part of Liam’s journey.
With gratitude,
Eric & Jaime Laughbaum
