English
Lia is a 5-month-old Dogo Argentino Mix puppy currently in emergency foster care in Málaga, Spain. For dogs of her size and breed, early environment and guidance are especially decisive: growing up in a stable, low-stress setting is key to developing safe and reliable behaviour later in life. With proper care, preventive training, and consistency, Lia has excellent chances of becoming a well-adjusted adult dog. This fundraiser covers her foster care, veterinary costs, training support, and adoption outreach while we take the time needed to find a suitable long-term home.
More Details:
As a volunteer for a registered non-profit organisation (Time and Space Equine Education Sanctuary), I took Lia in as an emergency foster dog.
Even though Lia is a mixed-breed dog, her genetic background includes a breed that is classified as potentially dangerous in many countries. As a result, there are several countries she cannot legally travel to or be placed in, including Germany, the UK, and France. This significantly limits adoption options and makes careful, informed placement essential. These legal classifications are not a judgement of Lia as an individual dog. However, because she will grow into a strong adult dog, it is especially important that she grows up in a stable, low-stress environment with experienced handling. Early structure, appropriate guidance, and preventive training are key to ensuring she develops into a safe, well-adjusted companion.
Additional stress or inappropriate handling during this developmental phase can significantly increase the risk of problematic or unsafe behaviours later on, which is why careful, experienced guidance is so important now.
This fundraiser is structured in phases and depends largely on how quickly we can find a suitable home for her.
Phase 1 focuses on covering Lia’s immediate, unavoidable needs during her first month in foster care.
What the first month covers:
- Food for a large-breed puppy (75€)
- Nutritional supplements due to early weaning at approximately 4 weeks of age (€25)
- Veterinary care, including sterilisation (€350) and routine treatment (50€)
- Insurance, where available for her breed (45€)
- Essential safety equipment - e.g.: crate (80€), gates (50-100€), handling tools (30€)
--> Total: 685€
If funds allow:
- Initial adoption outreach, including international options (up to 100€)
- 1–2 sessions with a breed-experienced trainer (80-160€)
--> Total: 260€
This early support reduces pressure to rush placement and allows Lia to remain stable while we search for a suitable home.

Giving Lia one month of stability is the foundation for her future!

Weitere Informationen:
Was der erste Monat abdeckt:

- --> Total: 685 €
- --> Total: 260 €
