Help Layna Achieve Her Veterinary Technician Goals
Donativo protegido
Hello everyone, this is my daughter Layna.
She has just graduated from Eastern High School in Reedsville, Ohio, attended vocational classes for AG, FFA, and animal science and is registered to attend Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky, to achieve a veterinary technician degree.
The school is #1 in the state and #8 in the US for veterinary studies. Here is a list of some of her academic accomplishments..
"I received the Don Jackson award my freshman year for academics during sports and was the first freshman to do so.
I received four varsity letters in cheer and one in golf.
I won the All-League Golf Award in 2023,
and I was in the National Honor Society my junior and senior years.
I won first place in the Veterans Day essay writing contest,
and I won the outstanding treble voice of my choir.
I have various certificates of completion in FFA.
These and others
I have my Greenhand Chapter and State Degree in FFA, which only 2% of students achieve
. I served as a reporter during my junior year and as Sentinel my senior year in FFA.
I received first place in district soils judging, so I was able to attend the banquet and receive the award as a group
. I have received academic honor roll from the Tri-Valley Conference for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024 through 2025.
I was involved in the Southeast mentoring group where I was a mentor to children.
I was in the educational talent search."I received the Athens meigs Gallia Jackson county farm bureau scholarship.
And have always maintained a 3.5 gpa or higher
I have always had a love and drive for animals. I also showed at the fair for the first time last year, where I got second place in showmanship in the novice class.
And a lot more volunteering and fundraising bake sales , feeding the team during football, pep rallies , sign making and countless hours of other school activities ,,no one works harder to achieve her goals.
With all that being said,We just went to orientation to finalize everything and found out, as many of you know, it's expensive! Even with grants, loans, etc., it will still be a stretch for her mother and i to fund her venture. I promised I'd give 110% to help and explore all our options and She has worked so hard and done every activity related to animals available and is determined this is her dream and passion ,,
We have always worked as much as we can and tried to save for this moment, but there always seems to be some blockbuster event, wether it be medical or vehicle-related, death, etc., that happens and drains our funds. Of course, our income falls in this grey area that is just over the limits for aid but not quite enough to fill the gaps. We live in meigs county Ohio , one of the most impoverished counties in the state and maybe the county, there's not a lot of opportunities here and this could be a huge step for her. I set the goal at $5000 which would help a lot but is about 1/6 of what it will eventually cost and see how it goes, So, if you would like to donate to her cause and help a small-town girl achieve big dreams or know someone who does, would you please share this with them or give anything you can, 100% of the proceeds will go towards any and all college expenses for her venture
Thanks so much for looking and God bless,, Mathew Barnhart
