My son, Decorrian, was a vibrant soul taken from us far too soon. On Saturday night, January 31st, 2026, he was working hard as a DoorDash driver, doing his best to provide for himself and our family. That evening, he went to pick up an order at Popeye's Chicken on 3100 Prospect in Kansas City, Missouri. While he was waiting for the order, an argument broke out between a few people inside the restaurant. As Decorrian tried to leave and head back to his car, gunfire erupted. In a heartbreaking twist of fate, he was caught in the crossfire and pronounced dead at the scene.

Our family is devastated by this sudden and senseless loss. Decorrian was full of life, kindness, and dreams for the future. We are now facing the unimaginable task of bringing him home to Memphis so we can say our final goodbyes and give him the farewell he deserves. The costs of transportation and funeral arrangements are overwhelming, and we are reaching out for help during this incredibly difficult time.
