Help Lana Rhodes through this time of hardship

Hi, my name is Torie and I'm seeking help from anyone willing and able. As many of you may know, my best friend Lana Rhodes is struggling with her health right now. On Sunday, January 29th, she had a seizure and was transported by ambulance to Harris Regional Medical Center in Sylva, NC. While she was there, the doctors discovered that she had a bleed in the right hemisphere of her brain which caused a hemorrhagic stroke followed by heavy amounts of left-sided weakness. Lana was then airlifted to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC late Sunday afternoon, and was in the ICU from Monday morning to Wednesday afternoon. Since arriving at Mission, a few more discoveries have arisen. Doctors have informed us that there is a blood clot in the right side of her brain that has caused lots of pressure and ultimately created the brain bleed. Lana has since had several more seizures and has had to undergo extensive testing. She started having some chest pains late Monday evening so they did a chest x-ray and everything was normal. The pain in her chest continued to worsen and a stat CT was ordered late Saturday night where they found that she had a pulmonary embolism. They then opted to do an ultrasound on her arms and legs to check for any other clots in the body and sadly, they did find a couple in one of her arms, caused by the IV. There is no way to be 100% sure of what has caused her to have all of these issues, but doctors do believe that her Crohn's disease is playing a part. This disease is something that she has been battling since she was 7. Her case is very severe and she is experiencing some inflammation from that as well at this time. Mission Hospital is unable to treat her disease due to its severity which will require her to go back and forth to Chapel Hill more often for treatment. She started blood thinners and seizure medications on Monday shortly after she was moved to the ICU. Because of her Crohn's, it is dangerous for her to be on blood thinners so she is being very closely monitored. She is going to be in the hospital for quite some time and when she does get to go home, she is going to need an at-home physical therapist and lots of assistance. She will be unable to go to work/school and won't be able to drive for a minimum of six months. These are going to be huge lifestyle changes for her. We are asking for your help to cover medical expenses and any other funding she and her family may need to get through these trials.

Lana has been my best friend for most of my life and it breaks my heart to see her in as much pain as she is. All I want is to see her happy and healthy. She has been a great blessing from God to me and many others and deserves so many great things in this life. She is such a kind soul and cares for others very deeply. We know that the Lord gives the toughest battles to His strongest soldiers. If you're unable to donate, please help us lift sweet Lana up in prayer. May God's will be done.
