On Wednesday, my sweet friend Alyssia’s world changed in an instant. Her 15-year-old son, Korbin, was in a serious dirt bike accident that left him critically injured. He had to be intubated at the scene and was life flighted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for emergency care.

Right now, Korbin remains in the hospital receiving around-the-clock care. The journey ahead includes a long recovery, both physically and emotionally—for him and his family.

From the emergency responders to the life flight, emergency room interventions, and what’s expected to be an extended hospital stay, the medical costs are already mounting.
