The first time I stepped through the front door of this classy consignment boutique , I knew it was someplace special! Not only was the Designer Rack packed with the most fabulous finds, the funky decor and fabulous energy let me know I was in for a treat! And that's the way it is every time I have wandered, shopped or laughed until my side hurt with shop owner, Theresa Cizmar. Since 1987, Auntie TE’s Consignment Boutique has been a thriving, women and family owned business – the oldest consignment shop in Northern Virginia. Auntie's TE's loyal clientele of shoppers and consignors have come to count on this shop to be a place to find a treasure, an affordable Gucci bag...or to shed a tear with Theresa when life throws you a curveball and turn to your favorite retail therapy for a "pick me up". For many, Auntie TE's is family.
Like so many, Auntie TE's has been devastated by the pandemic! For more than 30 years it has been an incredibly successful business for Theresa and her daughter Kerry Creason - in 3 different locations. COVID has destroyed their daily business and after 9 months of stringing the days together in the hopes of a turn of events, Auntie TE's is threatened with the possibility of having to close their doors. Although Auntie TE's applied, they have not been provided with any of the government loans. The shop is in dire need of funds to cover rent, and weather the next 4-5 months while the vaccine is distributed and the current tide changes.
Auntie TE's has been a steadfast supporter of multiple charities over the years making weekly donations to Vietnam Vest, Lupus Foundation, Special Olympics and Life with Cancer. During this incredibly scary and challenging time, I am asking for your help to save this wonderful shop that has been such a steadfast part of the community and has paid it forward many times over.
All of the funds raised will go directly to Auntie TE's to cover past and the next few month's rent. If you know retail, you know commercial rent is a killer! Any donation - no matter what amount, will give the shop a chance to survive the pandemic and keep the doors open for many seasons to come! Auntie TE's loves its clients and wants to continue to serve them - filling the shop with those amazing bargains we come to hunt for and brighten our day.
