Many of you may already be aware that Kaylan recently experienced a devastating breakup. She was pressured into signing a lease tied to a long-distance relationship of two years, a decision that has left her in an impossible position. Now an unexpected single mother, she is facing the very real risk of damaged credit or eviction. She has canceled Christmas plans, and when she shared that she might need to sell her son’s belongings just to cover next month’s bills, her friends knew we could no longer stay silent.

So many of us watched their relationship unfold publicly—the love they shared, the excitement around wedding plans, and the move to Texas to begin a family together with Kaylan’s child. We witnessed her fall deeply in love, which makes it all the more heartbreaking to see her now navigating such profound loss and instability.

Behind the scenes, the relationship was not safe or secure. For weeks, Kaylan has remained strong while living under constant emotional distress. Many of us asked how to help, not fully understanding the extent of what she was enduring. She has remained quiet about infidelity, past patterns of abuse, and the severe emotional manipulation that those closest to her have personally witnessed.

During this time, Kaylan was also hospitalized. She has previously spoken openly about surviving domestic violence and has dedicated herself to supporting other women. She is actively in therapy and committed to healing. Now is the moment to pull back the curtain and lift up our friend.

Kaylan is currently responsible for half of a $3,300 monthly rent. She is locked into a one-year lease with 10 months remaining—$33,000 total—leaving her responsible for $16,500 that should have been covered by her former partner. Without help, this could lead to devastating financial consequences.

No single mother should be forced to face this kind of hardship—especially during the holidays—because of someone else’s irresponsible and harmful actions. This situation reflects financial abuse, compounded by pressure to remain silent in the hope that she would lose everything quietly.

To be clear, I am not naming the individual involved. This is not about shaming or retaliation. It is about protecting and supporting a woman who is still experiencing harm at the hands of someone who deceived her.

All funds raised will go directly toward covering the rent and utility debt she was left with. Any amount beyond that will be used to pursue legal action for breach of contract. Until then, Kaylan is doing everything she can to stay afloat and hold this person financially accountable.
