Help Katie and Tallulah with Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Kris and I am friends with Katie and Katie needs our help right now. About 2 weeks ago, Katie’s world was tipped upside down. Her daughter, Tallulah, has become very ill. I would like to protect the privacy of Katie and her family so I will not go into great detail. Basically Tallulah is in a children’s hospital which is not close to their home. Katie and her family are also tied to a hotel to keep them close to Tallulah. There is no way Katie is leaving her daughter alone at the hospital, as no mom would. Right now Tallulah is in ICU and has been there for several days. As of my last conversation with Katie, the doctors are working hard to keep Tallulah comfortable. I will share that she has had to have several blood transfusions already due to this illness. I think I forgot to mention that Tallulah is only 11 years old. Katie and her husband Stephen are rotating “shifts” with Tallulah as they also have a 9 year old son Tommy who will not leave his sister alone in the hospital. The hotel they are staying at is pricy and we all know what hospital food is like. Unfortunately insurance will not cover a good portion of these medical bills so Katie and Stephen are stressing over the bills that are mounting up. To the best of my knowledge, there is not a Ronald McDonald house nearby but I am triple checking that. Katie has already had a meeting with the hospital social workers to get help with whatever they can help them with. Of course we all know that hotel bills, hospital parking, food, and other essentials do add up. To make matters worse, Katie’s car has also broken down in the hospital parking lot so they need to pay an Uber to get back and forth to the hospital from the hotel. Again, Katie has met with hospital social workers to get some help. Due to privacy reasons, I am not disclosing the hospital name or hotel name at this point.

We are starting the Go Fund Me to help Katie with the hotel and everyday essentials right now but more importantly to help Katie and her family with the enormous hospital bills they will have coming down the road. For those of you who don’t know Katie well, or at all……..Katie would be the first to stop and help someone. She would not hesitate, I have personally witnessed this first hand. The hardest thing we can do is ask for help and I know it is not easy for her to ask. Katie is always the “giver” but right now she and her baby girl need us.
