If you’ve ever met Zamy, you know the kind of person she is — full of love, kindness, and generosity. She’s always the first to give and the last to ask for anything in return. That’s why, in this difficult moment, I’m stepping in to ask for help on her behalf.

Since the day I met Zamy, I was struck by her kindness, her generosity, and her enormous, open heart. She welcomed my daughter Opal with such love, and I truly feel beyond blessed to have her as part of our family. Zamy means the world to us. She takes such beautiful care of Opal, she works tirelessly, and she pours so much love into our lives. We are incredibly lucky to have her, and her presence has changed us forever. Now, it is our turn to show her that same kindness and love. Keenan and I are covering as much of the cost as she will allow, and Zamy herself is contributing her life savings toward the surgery, ambulance, medical expenses, and Julio’s recovery. Every dollar raised here will go directly to supporting their family and holding them through this very difficult and frightening time.

Zamy and Julio’s love story began in high school in a small mountain town in Hidalgo, Mexico. From the very beginning, they’ve been inseparable—working hard side by side, raising their two beautiful children, and doing everything they could to build a good life for their family.

Even after their children grew up, Zamy and Julio continued to sacrifice, often living and working in different cities so they could provide for their family and secure a brighter future. Through it all, their dream has remained simple: to grow old together, side by side, and enjoy the life they’ve worked so hard to create.

But just over a year ago, everything changed. Julio started experiencing severe stomach pain. What doctors first said was a burst appendix turned into something much worse. Because treatment was delayed, fluid spread throughout his stomach. During surgery, his intestine was injured by mistake. When Julio was finally sent home, a painful lump began to grow. Doctors told him it was “normal,” but it wasn’t—and now his health has reached a critical point.

Julio is in urgent need of life-saving surgery. Without it, his condition will only get worse and he could die. Zamy and their family are doing everything they can, but the cost of this surgery, hospital care, and recovery is overwhelming and far more than they can handle on their own.
