My name is Joseph Kaycee Quao, and I have been accepted into the Master of Arts – Dual Certification Program in Elementary Inclusive Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, for the 2025–2026 academic year.

This is more than an academic opportunity—it’s the next step in a lifelong mission.

As a passionate educator from Ghana, I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of foundational literacy holds back countless children with bright dreams but limited support. To address this, I founded a Reading and Numeracy Intervention Program in Mamprobi, one of Accra’s most underserved communities. With little more than a whiteboard, a few donated storybooks, and a deep belief in every child’s potential, I began working with children who were years behind in reading—some of whom had never even held a pencil before.

Week after week, these children came back, eager to learn. Some read their very first sentence under my guidance. Those moments have stayed with me. They are the reason I’ve committed my life to inclusive education—so no child is left behind simply because of where they were born or the challenges they face.

Now, I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to study at one of the world’s top institutions for education. But I need your help to make it possible.

The cost of attendance for the academic year is $86,468:

As an international student, I have not been awarded any scholarships or funding. I am asking, with humility and hope, for your support in helping me raise the funds to attend.
