Johnny Payne was born and raised in Vidalia, GA. He is the husband of Desiree Payne and father to two kids and one grandchild. Johnny has served in the capacity as music minister and worship leader for churches and ministries for over 30+ years. He has been impactful with creating worship program and spiritual platforms for organizations throughout the states of Georgia and Florida. He currently holds the position of Program Director for Friends of Jesus Inc. in Bainbridge, GA. Johnny’s passion to worship and to create opportunities for people to serve and worship God extends far beyond music. Johnny spends his weekends working with Life Way Community Center as a worship leader assisting Mr. Bryan Watts with providing entertainment platforms for churches and the community. He is invested his entire life in his walk with God.
On Friday, March 5, 2021, while traveling on Hwy 27 from Tallahassee, FL to Bainbridge GA, Johnny was involved in a major motorcycle accident. Johnny was driving on his motorcycle and two deer unexpectedly leaped in front of his bike causing him to swerve to avoid a head on collision. He lost control of his bike and landed head first in a wooded area. Johnny remained undiscovered in the wooded area for 4-5 hours upon be rescued by an unnamed driver. Upon being rescued, he was rushed to the hospital and immediately taken into surgery. His initial prognosis was extremely concerning because he sustained several chest and lung injuries. Johnny had to undergo multiple surgeries including total rib reconstruction and lung surgery, where fluid had to be released to sustain his life. Johnny, like lots of others, had not planned to have this life changing experience along with other current conditions that have impacted his financial situation. Johnny has always provided for his family through his unrelentless worship and serving God. Due to the covid restrictions placed on churches since last March and Johnny not having health insurance, this has caused an unwavering financial strain of Johnny and his family. It is our goal to assist Johnny and his family with some of their financial obligations and hospital bills. We are praying that some of Johnny’s former and current employers and churches will contribute and extend help to him and his family.
