Jim, my brother, is known to many as 'Bear.' He has always been the kind of person who brings people together, whether it's neighbors, friends, or relatives. For over 20 years, Jim has called St. John in the Virgin Islands his home, and anyone on the island will tell you how much he means to the community. Alongside his companion Lora, Jim has built a wonderful circle of friends and has always been there for others in times of need. He also keeps in touch with a tremendous number of schoolmates, showing just how much he values connection and friendship.

Recently, Jim received a cancer diagnosis. Without private insurance, he now faces the overwhelming challenge of paying for surgery and related medical expenses entirely out of pocket. The cost of the surgery alone is staggering, and the financial burden is more than he can manage on his own. The funds raised here will go directly toward covering the surgery, his recovery, and all the medical expenses that come with this difficult journey.

Jim has already lost several close friends this past year, and we are determined to do everything we can to make sure he gets the care he needs.
