Help Jeff fight Brain Cancer & support his family

Brain cancer sucks.

This is my brother in law Jeff and his beautiful family. His wife of 25 years, my sister, Joanne and his two children Darren and Danielle. Jeff is 54 years old and in a fight for his life.

This photo was taken 4 weeks before Jeff woke up on Jun 7th, without any prior symptoms, unable to speak or use his right hand. He was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer. Immediately, he was admitted to the ICU and scheduled for neurosurgery 3 days later. Unfortunately, there is still 5% of this tumor left in his brain stem... Radiation up next

High grade astrocytoma is tricky, uncommon and relentless. Jeff's team of drs and community have been showing up in full force to support in all the ways they can, but cancer is expensive.

Despite Joanne and Darren working full time, Jeff was the primary provider and can not work anymore.  Disability and social security benefits can potentially take months and the current goal is to keep them in their home with the lights on during this challenging time.

Cancer is also inconvenient.

The week Jeff came home from the hospital was his daughter's high school prom and graduation. He was able to watch her graduate with the help of Darren and Facetime, but his sound sensitivity, deep fatigue and headaches kept him home on the couch with the volume low. He is still requiring full time in home care.

Besides medical bills, my hope is that we, as a community, can help Joanne and the kids find stability in this time. Any small amount helps and if you are not in a position to help financially, please help by amplifying this GoFundMe and their story by sharing with friends and loved ones.

We continue to explore possible treatments to give Jeff more time and better quality of life. He has led a very healthy life which the drs say helped him return home more quickly after surgery. But there is a long road ahead especially for Joanne and the kids.
