JAY'S URGENT LIFE CHANGING SURGERY

Hi Folks,

for those of you who know Jay he is a pretty down to earth kind of guy and also a very talented dude. He is a good friend and always likes to put others before himself. He also never lets anyone know if he has any other health issues as he doesn't want to bother anyone with his health problems. Fair to say most of us would probably feel/do the same. Jay has given so much to our local community by sharing his gift and love of music and we have been blessed with his contribution with the live music scene right across Victoria.

 

For the last 2 years, Jay has been battling some health issues and he keeps saying it's under control. As his family and friends we feel strongly about getting him back on his feet. The truth is he has been on a very long public waiting list because Covid has back logged all elective surgeries and it seems his surgery maybe a very long way off still.

 

For those of you that are close to Jay you would know he is not in a good way and needs urgent help to have surgery that will give him his mobility back so he can get out and do what he loves to do best which is to sing and entertain but also be amongst his friends and family.

We are anticipating with the provided funds Jay will be able to have his surgery much sooner. If we reach our target we may be able to have the surgery costs paid for in advance and a date set.

All the financial donations will be prioritised for surgery. There is a slim chance the government will be able to cover the surgery cost if the surgeon fast tracks it through the system. The surgeons secretary has advised us that going private is probably his best chance of fast tracking his case. If the government covers the cost of the surgery then the funds raised here will go towards helping Jay get back on his feet as his business has been impacted by his health and Covid.

BELOW IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE COSTS.

 

1. Surgery estimate is $5000 and pays for surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital fees.

2. Nov 30th Jay has an appointment to see surgeon to fast track case - Cost is $170

3. Jay is currently on Centrelink but as we all know that's not nearly enough to cover everyday living. Most of Jay's Centrelink benefit goes towards medication for his ongoing health issues - Cost is ongoing.

4. Jay's vehicle broke down one week after he paid a lot of money to have it fixed we will be asking his mechanic if he is able to fix it for free. Or if anyone knows someone who would like to help please get in touch with Jay or James.

5. A fundraiser concert is being organised at Braidies Tavern in Bendigo and Gypsy Bar in Echuca (see below for details). You can donate on the day or donate via this GoFundMe page.

6. Jay has kindly requested to keep the details of his medical surgery private and only amongst those of you who have been informed.
