Hi, my name is Jax Greenwald, and I am a 21-year-old college student. Also, I am transgender (FTM). And I need your help. I need to get top surgery but cannot afford to cover the costs of the surgeon I'm interested in. The surgery costs $12,275 total and the other $2,725 is to cover the cost of travel, housing, and food, in the two weeks post-op. Ideally, I am hoping to schedule the surgery for this summer, but the chances of me raising enough money in time are slim. If I could get this surgery tomorrow, I would--but in all likelihood, I will have to wait a lot longer.
I am in dire need of this surgery. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable to talk about (let alone write about) my chest, and that is why I have been putting off posting this campaign for so many months. The main thing you need to know is that, while they are technically on my body, my boobs are not, nor have they ever been, mine. I cannot express to you how much consistent anguish my boobs have brought me since puberty, but please trust me when I say that I will not feel truly at home in my body until they are off. I have been on testosterone for 3 months now, and I have never been more certain that this surgery is medically necessary for me than I am at this time.
