Help Jason Raise Money for Surgery
Donativo protegido
Many of you who know Jason LaBrie know that he is a guy who shows he cares by taking action. If a friend or family member has a need he shows up to help.
He is a genius mechanic, an extremely hard worker, if you know him you know that it is hard for him to sit still. He’s a caring person who doesn’t know a stranger and is not afraid to just tell you the truth. He loves his friends and family and doesn’t hesitate to help a stranger.
Now he needs our help!!
The past several months have been extremely difficult for him. He reinjured an old shoulder injury from his teens. This put him out of work for 8 weeks while his doctors were trying to figure out whether it would be better to operate or if he’d have more range of motion long term without surgery. He has been in severe pain this entire time. This was very difficult for two reasons. First, his job is very demanding physically. And second, he is the sole provider for his family of seven.
He had just gone back to work when several weeks ago his diverticulitis started acting up. He was so worried about money, he put off going to the doctor. Last Monday evening he was in so much pain he blacked out multiple times and had several seizures.
Fortunately, Cheri’s parents were there and were able to help get him in their vehicle and to the Emergency Room.
He was severely dehydrated and in septic shock. His kidneys were on the verge of shutting down. He had difficulty breathing, low blood pressure and a body temp of 94.7. The whole left side of his body was numb and he was unable to move his limbs without help.
We very nearly lost him on Monday.
He was in the hospital for several days recovering, then he was readmitted to the hospital again on Sunday night and is still there because the infection is so severe.
His doctor recommended that he get part of his colon removed now because of the damage that’s been done to his digestive tract. If he waits, next time he has a flare up it could be life threatening or he could end up having to live with a colostomy bag.
He is hesitant to get the surgery because of money. His insurance is not good and the disability insurance he does have is refusing to pay him.
We would like to raise money to help pay for the surgery and money for his family to live on while he is recovering.
Anything you could do to help would be such a blessing to him!! He feels alone right now trying to deal with all of this, so we want to do everything we can to show him how loved he is.
