Hello, internet friends!!
Recently, we had to take our beautiful little cat, Jarrito, to an animal hospital for a mystery illness. We still don't know what the sickness is, but we had to leave him at the hospital for an overnight stay. As you can imagine, that hit the bank pretty hard!!
So, who is Jarrito?
He's our playful little orange glow, rescued almost a year ago as a tiny little kitten from a farmer's field. No one claimed him, but he had so much love and personality to give, we just fell in love with him! He's been our playful best friend ever since.
How did he get his name, you ask? Well, we were out at my grandfather's property and weren't expecting to be bringing home this little guy, and the only thing we had to get him home in was a Jarrito's drink box! It was just too perfect a name to pass up.
So, what's the matter with our little orange wonder?
To tell you the truth, we have no clue. He is usually bombproof, always getting into stuff but never the worse for it! He had never had any serious sickness, and always so peppy and playful. Today, when my aunt woke up, however, she had noticed several messes on the floor. Then, Jarrito was sick again and hid under a cat tree, and wouldn't answer to his name.
Anyone who knows this little firecracker knows he's not one to hide, and comes running when he hears his name. He's more like a small dog than a cat - he even plays fetch!
When he wouldn't react to us and laid in a heap on the floor, we knew we had to get him some help. When we got him to the emergency vets, he was running a very high fever, and was still so sad and lethargic.
For now, Jarrito is still at the hospital, but we hope he will be home tomorrow!
We will post updates as they come, and we hope they're good ones!
In the meantime, while my family and I hate asking for help, we manage to scrape by between paychecks, but we were definitely not expecting an emergency vet bill. Any help is so greatly appreciated, even if it's just a share here or there!
